Help Camp Nokomis Find a Home ►

Ola Tumblr!

So I’ve been going to this summer camp as a camper and then most recently as a staff member since I was nine. I cannot stress enough how much this camp means to me and, unfortunately, it is in trouble now and under threat of being closed down. Fortunately, however, we have a chance to win a community fund from the lovely people at Aviva Insurance.

The reason for this message is to ask for your help. All you have to do is go to http://www.avivacommunityfund.org/ideas/acf5415 and register and then vote. No donations, just voting. You can vote once a day and it would really make a difference so if you have the time I would really appreciate it! It would mean more than you could ever even begin to imagine to me.

Anyone who’s gone to summer camp or even knows anyone who has gone to summer camp knows the impact it can does have on a person and how important of an experience it is for a child. I could go on forever talking about the things that make this camp as amazing as it is, but it’s hard to put into words the intangibles that make the whole summer camp experience so worthwhile.

I know that was long but I appreciate the read. Don’t forget to vote! Muchos gracias :)

Why in moments of crisis do we ask God for strength and help? As cognitive beings, why would we ask something that may well be a figment of our imaginations for guidance? Why not search inside ourselves for the power to overcome? After all, we are strong enough to cause most of the catastrophes we need to endure.
